The MSU Denver Women's Volleyball Team is expanding its international horizons with a seven-day volunteerism-centered tour of Nicaragua, in July 2017. This once-in-a-lifetime trip will allow players and coaches to have the extraordinary opportunity to contribute through community service projects, participate in competitive volleyball games, and have fun!
While in Nicaragua, the team will visit Managua, Masaya, Granada, and San Juan del Sur. There, they will take part in neighborhood activities with locals, including youth volleyball clinics, teaching English to students, and delivering supplies to local schools. These service projects will allow players to gain a humbling global perspective and to give back to the communities that they will be visiting.
Players will also learn how the game of volleyball translates across cultures, and breaks down barriers, when they play several exciting games against the Nicaraguan National Volleyball Team! The MSU Denver team is eager to see how the style of play differs in another part of the world, and how they match up against an international competitor!
Finally, players will have time to explore historic landmarks and volcanoes, relax on the beach, go zip-lining, take a surfing lesson, and immerse themselves in the local culture!
The MSU Denver Volleyball Team has an ambitious crowdfunding goal of $16,000. This will cover less than half of the total trip cost, with the players working to fundraise in other ways to pay for their portion of the journey.
When you choose to support the MSU Denver Women's Volleyball Team, the reach of your gift will extend further than you can possibly imagine. Our student's time in Nicaragua, and in turn your gift, will aid the Casa Llanta Fund, a non-profit educational foundation that supports the creation of sustainable solutions in the community through supplemental education, scholarships, and work opportunities, to underprivileged youth and adults with disabilities.

$50 can go a LONG way when we are talking about an international travel trip. $50 will cover checked baggage fees for ONE player round trip from Denver to Nicaragua!
Want to sponsor WATER for the WEEK? A donation of $100 will hydrate our entire team and coaching staff for the entire week that we are on our service trip to Nicaragua.
The team is looking forward to enjoying the sites and scenes of Nicaragua! A gift of $250 will allow the team to take a boat tour around historic Granada, Nicaragua, one of the first settlement colonies in the country! This trip will be fun and educational for our team. We would love to send our trip sponsor a team selfie while in Granada! :)
A gift of $500 will sponsor food for ONE player for ONE week! We will be playing volleyball, traveling the country and performing community service work. Please fuel the food for this jam packed HIGH ENERGY week!
A gift of $750 will cover court and referee fees for all of our matches while in Nicaragua! The most important match being when we play the Nicaraguan National Women's Volleyball Team on their home turf! Let's get a WIN!
