Alternative Break Program (ABP) exposes students to complex social and cultural issues through service, experiential learning, group discussion, and personal reflection. These are great educational opportunities for students to gain a deeper insight of social issues and become well-informed citizens. The Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) Leadership Program along with the Reisher Scholarship fund host annual Alternative Break Programs. Your support would give students a chance to spend their Spring break on a service trip.
In Spring 2018, scholars volunteered with La Puente in Alamosa, Colorado and attended an educational day at the National Sand Dunes Park and Recreation. In Spring 2017, scholars volunteered with the National Dog Mill Rescue in Colorado Springs. Alternative Break trips are planned, led, and executed completely by MSU Denver students.
